The Meseda and Rabul fields lie within block H of the onshore in the highly prospective West Gharib concession, located at the western margin of the Gulf of Suez. The Rabul field lies c. 3 km northwest of the Meseda field and is connected to the CPF at Meseda. SDX Energy holds 50% working interest in the block, with Dublin International Petroleum holding the 50% operated interest.
Heavy oil is produced from the Asl Formation at the Meseda field, and from the Yusr and Bakr Formations at the Rabul field.
Commencing Q2/Q3 2021, the Company plans to drill four producing wells and one injector well in the West Gharib concession, which will target approximately 1 million barrels of recoverable resources, with each well expected to produce gross 300-400 bbl/d.
